Proudly Supporting Every Third Saturday

Every Third Saturday is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Twin Cities Veterans find new purpose after military service. They are a people-focused organization that centers around providing a community where Vets and their families can make connections and find support.

Community can be one of the most important parts of recovery for Veterans struggling with physical or mental health, or just struggling to find somewhere safe and warm. Seeing the need for a place that could provide a support network for Minneapolis Veterans, Every Third Saturday (ETS) founders Tom and Jessi McKenna created Rick’s Place, named after Mst. Sgt. Rick Gustafson. This is a place where Veterans can come together to share their experiences and feel the camaraderie that can sometimes be missing when a soldier returns home.

At Rick’s Place, a Veteran (and members of their family) can enjoy a free cup of coffee, join an art therapy session, play any number of games (checkers, chess, cribbage), and most importantly – commune with their military brothers and sisters. Of course, the public is welcome to come meet and spend time with Veterans here as well.

Every Third Saturday does more than provide a place for Veterans to connect; they host a supply distribution event on the third Saturday of each month where they give out free clothing, supplies and lunch. They also offer programs that help Veterans develop their careers, combat trauma, and stay physically active.
